Good to know…

  • Only individuals with long-term residence or a delivery address in the U.S. can apply for voting by mail. If you’re in the U.S. just on vacation, you can still vote—but you must obtain a voter ID in time and appear in person at the election office. More information here.

  • Steps 1 and 2 can be combined into one, allowing you to register in the Register of Voters Abroad and apply for voting by mail at the same time.

  • To ensure the anonymity of your vote, a two-envelope system is used. This proven method keeps your ballot separate from your personal identification, maintaining both confidentiality and verifiability.

  • Voting by mail is historically available for the first time for elections to the Chamber of Deputies. This option significantly eases access to voting for Czechs living abroad.

  • The project to mobilize Czech citizens to participate in voting by mail in the 2025 elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic was prepared by the Czech section of the association supporting expatriates, KOMENSKÝ, in Prague, in cooperation with the Bohemian Benevolent and Literary Association in New York. You can read more here.

  • Not sure who to vote for? Just sign up – and we’ll send you clear summaries of party and candidate programs, so you can easily get oriented and decide who to cast your vote for.
